Barnsdale is an absolute haven for those wishing to partake of activities. Nestled in Rutland it is close to so many activities but has that unique tranquillity of a land unfettered by modern living. So if you want a change from the on-site activities of swimming, massage, squash, tennis, bowls, fine dining, spectacular views, clean air and suchlike, we have it.

The range of activities available is endless but here are a few to get you started. These are all available within a short drive. They include a range of golf courses, sailing, rock-climbing, fly-fishing, falconry, bird-watching, superb shopping, restaurants, sight-seeing, windsurfing, dry slope skiing, horse riding, arranged trips and more. We are pleased to organise any of these for you at any time at your request. There is also a nature reserve and bird sanctuary, as well as miles of traffic free cycle-ways around Rutland Water.

Our Gymnasium is fully air-conditioned. We have a fantastic range of equipment. Including Resistance Machines and Free-Weights to a selection of state of the art cardio-vascular machines such as Treadmills, Cycles, Steppers, Cross-Trainers, Rowing Machines and a Hand Bike. To help you reach your goals, there is also the opportunity for you to have a personal fitness program designed for you, by one of our fully trained instructors.

Our 22-metre Swimming Pool offers the perfect environment for a relaxing swim. Why not take the opportunity to sit and unwind in our Sauna or Steam Room, a superb way of relaxing and easing tense muscles. You could also take a dip in one of our Spa Pools, using a mixture of air and warm water to sooth tired muscles and relieves aches and pains, leaving you with a feeling of complete regeneration and ready to take on the world again!!

For racquet enthusiasts we have six tennis courts, two of which are floodlight and newly resurfaced. (Lighting tokens are available at Leisure Reception at a cost of £3.00 per session.) There are also two excellent indoor squash courts available.

Our fitness studio holds an array of classes throughout the week catering for all abilities. Whether you want to relax with Hatha Yoga or work up a sweat with a high energy spinning class.

In addition to the indoor leisure facilities, Barnsdale also offers a 9 hole pitch and putt golf course, Football pitch, an 18 hole crazy/mini golf course, an artificial bowls lawn and a snooker table. (Deposit required for equipment hire)
